Proximate Body Composition Analysis of Two Commercially Important Members of Cyprinidae Family (Catla catla and Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) From Southern Punjab, Pakistan

The present Study proposed to evaluate the body composition of Catla catla and Hypophthalmichthys molitrix collected from southern Punjab, Pakistan. Collected fishes samples werebrought fisheries lab for further analysis. mean value water, fat, protein ash as water is 75.1%; Ash in wet dry weight 4.07 16.4; Fat 5.2 20.8; Protein content 15.62 62.66 respectively C. catla. ranges 77.27%; 4.20 5.21; 1.55 6.10; 3.22 5.27 H. molitrix. Percent showed highly significant correlation with all constituents except percent fat whichshowed non-significant correlation.
